Part-time Dog Rescue Social Media, Grant Writing and Volunteer Coordinator

Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is looking to add a part-time employee to handle social media, volunteer coordination, and grant writing for our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Laurel Canyon.

At Ace of Hearts, we are dedicated to stepping in to rescue dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds and prevent euthanasia by finding them stable and loving homes.

Important information about the position:

• This is a part-time position (20-25hrs per week anticipated)
• This is an in-office job (NOT remote) located in Laurel Canyon
• All of our dogs are fostered, and we don't have a dedicated shelter facility- you will work from the office in Laurel Canyon.

Responsibilities:

• Recruiting, scheduling and coordinating relationships with volunteers
• Managing social media efforts
• Grant writing to secure funding
• Organizing volunteers for dog adoptions and other tasks
• Developing outreach programs
• Must regularly be able to lift 35lbs
• Other responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

• Experience working with dogs in a professional setting
• MUST love dogs--all breeds and sizes--and be passionate about the cause!
• Must have non-profit grant writing experience
• Experience managing/coordinating volunteers
• Hands-on, proactive, able to show initiative
• Excellent phone demeanor and ability to handle multiple callers at once
• Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Google docs/calendar
• Good knowledge of social media for outreach and communication
• Must have continual access to a cell phone, laptop computer and reliable transportation
• Must be comfortable answering an on-call cell phone for emergencies after hours

Compensation:

• $30/hr
• ~20-25hrs per week anticipated
• Please note that this role will require some weekend work about twice a month (adoption event weekends)
