Transportation Supervisor – Night Shift

Schedule: Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri | 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM

About the Opportunity:

We’re hiring a Transportation Supervisor on behalf of a fast-paced, employee-owned company with 500+ employees and one of the largest distribution hubs in the region. This leadership role is based at their Jessup, MD location and will oversee 70+ drivers and helpers across routes spanning from Baltimore and DC to Virginia Beach, Philadelphia, West Virginia, and southern New Jersey.

You’ll play a critical role in supervising nightly operations, ensuring on-time delivery performance, managing vehicle readiness, and fostering a strong safety culture across the team. This is a high-impact opportunity for a logistics leader who thrives in complex routing and team environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and manage transportation operations for 70+ drivers and helpers
• Optimize routes and dispatch to maximize efficiency and service levels
• Oversee fleet maintenance, DOT compliance, and safety inspections
• Train, coach, and evaluate drivers to ensure performance and professionalism
• Collaborate with warehouse and loading teams to ensure readiness each shift
• Address customer delivery concerns with urgency and professionalism
• Track KPIs like on-time delivery, driver productivity, and fleet performance
• Analyze operations data to drive improvements and reduce costs

Who You Are:

• 3–5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics leadership
• Strong communication and team-building skills
• Proficient in routing and transportation management software (TMS)
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and vehicle safety standards
• Comfortable working evenings and weekends
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered
