Sr. Director of Data Science

San Francisco - Hybrid

$250,000 - $275,000 Base Salary + Bonus

The Company:

Our client is a digital health company transforming how biopharma navigates the patient journey for specialty therapies. Their proprietary platform unifies commercial, clinical, and channel data to deliver real-world insights that accelerate access, improve adherence, and drive better outcomes.

The Role

Lead a growing team of data scientists and analytics engineers in developing AI-driven solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech clients. This player-coach role combines hands-on technical work with strategic leadership, collaborating across product development and client services teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing data science and analytics engineering team
• Own AI & analytics strategy across the company's technology platform and service offerings
• Develop data science solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech clients
• Integrate predictive analytics capabilities into product features
• Ensure scalable data pipelines and architecture for diverse biopharma datasets
• Present complex analyses as actionable insights to technical and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years leading data science/analytics teams
• 7+ years with large-scale commercial biopharma datasets required
• Strong ML expertise (regression, NLP, time series, classification) and statistical analysis
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Snowflake, and Snowpark
• Experience with data modeling, ETL design, and orchestration frameworks
• Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban)
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• AWS cloud experience preferred
• Data privacy/compliance experience (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC)
• Agentic/autonomous AI systems experience is a plus
