Location Requirement:
The role begins with an initial 30-day on-site period, which may be required. After that, it transitions to a hybrid schedule: two days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays) on-site at the IDOT Central Office in Springfield, IL, and three days remote.
Job Description.
We are looking for a highly capable and driven Senior .NET/Angular Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience developing enterprise-grade web applications using Angular, .NET, and Entity Framework Core, along with 2+ years working in Agile environments. Experience with Kendo UI is strongly preferred. This role demands strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain high-performance web applications using C#, EF Core, Angular, and Kendo UI.
Optimize data access layers using Entity Framework Core for performance and maintainability.
Develop responsive and interactive front-end components with Angular and Kendo UI.
Participate in all phases of the SDLC: requirements, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
Collaborate in Agile teams with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, and developers.
Follow best practices in coding, performance, security, and design.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across front-end and back-end layers.
Contribute to process improvements and development methodologies.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience with:
.NET Framework & .NET Core (C#)
Entity Framework Core
Angular (v10+ preferred)
2+ years in Agile/Scrum environments
Hands-on experience with Kendo UI
Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles
Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
Proficiency in SQL Server and relational database design
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development
Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure or AWS
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Knowledge of microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
Understanding of front-end performance and accessibility standards
