Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to join our industrial coatings company. In this role, you’ll combine leadership with active shop-floor involvement, spending time both overseeing daily production operations and working directly with the team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily production activities, ensuring schedules, output, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Lead, mentor, and support production team members (10–15 operators), fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Oversee mixing, batching, and packaging of coatings products, ensuring adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor equipment operation and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Track and report production metrics (throughput, yields, downtime, scrap) while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, R&D, and Supply Chain to maintain product consistency and optimize workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in handling chemical materials.
  • Participate in process improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of production or operations experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (coatings, paints, adhesives preferred, but other chemical or process industries acceptable).
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience with proven ability to manage and develop teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as batching, mixing, blending, and packaging.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality.
