Plant Manager – Precast Concrete Plant Job Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operations of a precast concrete manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production, cost control, and compliance with production schedules. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in precast concrete and maintenance, and hands-on management in the field (80% field, 20% office). The ideal candidate is bilingual (English & Spanish), highly organized, goal-oriented, with a strong presence and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership & Personnel Management • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, spending most of the time on the production floor. • Supervise, train, and motivate plant personnel to ensure high performance. • Optimize workforce allocation to reduce labor hours while maintaining productivity. • Enforce discipline, professionalism, and accountability among employees.
2. Production & Efficiency Management • Ensure on-time production that meets customer requirements and quality standards. • Implement efficiency improvements to optimize workflow and reduce waste. • Monitor KPIs (production efficiency, labor productivity, and cost control). • Troubleshoot and resolve production bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
3. Cost Control & Budget Management • Minimize operational costs by optimizing labor, materials, and resource usage. • Manage inventory to prevent shortages or excess stock. • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to reduce costs and ensure material availability.
4. Maintenance & Equipment Management • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure plant reliability. • Work with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. • Ensure proper inspection, servicing, and repair schedules for all machinery.
5. Housekeeping & Workplace Organization • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and disciplined work environment. • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials, tools, and equipment. • Promote safe and efficient work habits among employees. 6. Communication & Reporting • Maintain clear and professional communication with employees, management, and suppliers. • Prepare and present production reports, maintenance logs, and cost analysis documents. • Address and resolve customer concerns and supplier coordination issues.
Qualifications & Requirements: • Preferably with knowledge of precast concrete production and maintenance practices. • Bilingual (English & Spanish) – REQUIRED. • Experience in reducing labor hours while maintaining efficiency. • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and production software. • Professional appearance and strong leadership presence. Work Schedule & Conditions: • Monday to Saturday (flexibility required based on production demands). • 80% fieldwork, 20% office tasks. • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery. • Availability for extended hours, including early mornings or late evening as needed.
