Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $35/hour

Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the shipment of goods from the production facility. This role works closely with production, planning, customer service, and external logistics providers to ensure shipping requirements are met efficiently and accurately. The position involves managing shipping documentation, coordinating transportation, and maintaining accurate data across multiple systems to support plant and customer objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Maintain strong internal customer relationships by responding to inquiries and concerns with professionalism and urgency.
- Determine the most effective shipping methods based on customer requirements, shipping procedures, routes, and freight rates.
- Prepare daily outbound shipments, including all required paperwork and labels.
- Verify shipment details such as counts, weights, and measurements against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
- Utilize systems such as Oracle, Vista, and Microsoft Excel for shipping and data entry activities.
- Coordinate daily transportation by contacting and scheduling trucking companies.
- Review shipping plans and details daily with plant team members.
- Produce international shipping documentation, including invoices and mailings.
- Provide freight forwarders with required documentation such as Shipper’s Letters of Instruction (SLIs) and Commercial Invoices .
- Maintain accurate and organized shipping files.
- Manage and maintain relationships with logistics and transportation providers.
- Prepare and present shipping details and reports upon request.
- Assist Customer Service Representatives as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Specialized Knowledge
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
- 1–3 years of relevant logistics or supply chain experience
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
Skills & Competencies
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office , especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, cross-functional environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction
- Ability to adjust work schedules to meet customer service and operational needs
- Comfortable working with diverse teams across multiple functions and cultures
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and perform effectively under pressure
