Overview
Equity Medical is seeking a dedicated Board-Certified Internist to join our expanding practice in the South Bronx. This unique role combines high-quality primary care in a highly underserved area (opportunity to make real impact) with leadership in clinical research as a Principal Investigator (PI) across multiple disease states, including hypertension, vaccines, diabetes, migraine, and Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities
Clinical Research / PI Responsibilities
• After any necessary training (if needed) is completed, serve as Principal Investigator for ongoing/future clinical trials
• Oversee study conduct, participant safety, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure protocol adherence, accurate reporting, and supervision of study staff
• Collaborate with research coordinators, sponsors, and regulatory representatives
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research-related leadership activities
Requirements
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine (MD or DO; required)
Licensed to practice medicine in New York State (required)
• Spanish-speaking (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care (required)
• Demonstrated experience caring for patients in underserved communities, preferably the Bronx (preferred)
• Prior exposure to clinical research (preferred)
