Geotechnical Engineer

What You'll Do
- Travel to job sites across the U.S. to log soils and oversee field investigations
- Coordinate with local drillers to collect samples and manage logistics
- Analyze soil samples and prepare geotechnical reports from our Tennessee lab
- Collaborate with our internal engineering team and clients to deliver timely, high-quality work
- Work on a variety of projects - no two sites are the same
- Lead geotechnical investigations including field exploration, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
- Design foundations, retaining structures, slope stability solutions, and ground improvement systems.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff and support their professional development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation, commercial, and municipal projects.
- Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to ensure project success.
- Support business development efforts through proposal writing and client engagement.
What They're Looking For
- 2-6 years of geotechnical experience
- PE license is a plus but not required
- Strong field logging and report writing skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Not looking to manage people - just solid technical execution
- Curious and adaptable - excited to work across different geologies and regions
- Self-motivated and reliable - they don't babysit
