Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Spring Intern at Hyperquake, located in Cincinnati, OH with some work-from-home flexibility. The Experiential Design Intern, on the Experience team is learning how to use design and content to fuel compelling brand experiences in physical spaces. This intern level role provides support to the Creative Director and other members of the creative and project teams while helping to creatively provide solutions to meet our clients’ needs. The Design intern will provide support in achieving creative solutions while meeting project scope, developing concept treatments, and working with production to bring those elements to life (on time and on budget) in physical space. As a creative producer in the work, you will help support Hyperquake’s output with experience related to many facets of design: graphic, digital/interactive, motion graphics, immersive installations, videos/storytelling and conceptual design thinking – ensuring all creative work meets and/or exceeds both agency and client expectations. This role is responsible for producing actionable design solutions in a collaborative environment. 

The right candidate will be comfortable working across multiple clients, project types, and industries and agile enough to move back and forth, as needed. Key responsibilities include designing presentations and supporting materials, brainstorming and visualizing physical environments and creating collateral that supports the compelling stories we build for our clients. This role covers all aspects of the visual arts and requires competency across the full range of graphic design software.

Qualifications

  • Passion and exposure for developing creative solutions for experiential design solutions
  • Understands best practices of experiential/spatial design 
  • Be an active participant in creative ideation and collaborative design critique
  • Ability to present work and communicate practical rationale to internal team
  • Works daily with the Storybuilding design team to ensure all deliverables meet and/or exceed expectations.
  • Delivers creative excellence within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, technical constraints as well as budget and schedule.
  • Understands the brand’s meaning to users at every touchpoint and creates design solutions that support the brand’s strategies – and challenges the expected.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners; communicates issues, opportunities, and insights to various departments as necessary to ensure design integrity is being upheld.
  • Effectively manages and maintains an organized server environment for the client/brand assets.
  • Works daily with the Creative Director to ensure all design centric projects are exceeding design expectations.
  • Responsible for managing best practices in design (clean files, proofing, color limitations, printing limitations) with design team members.
