Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Curriculum & Grants Director provides leadership and oversight for the organization’s curriculum initiatives, educational resources, and grant-funded projects. This role manages the administration of grants and service agreements, supervises the curriculum development team, and ensures the timely fulfillment of all curriculum projects. The Director also takes a hands-on role in leading and creating content for select curriculum projects as needed, ensuring alignment with California academic standards and organizational priorities. This position is critical in advancing agricultural literacy and ensuring accountability to funders and partners.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Grant & Agreement Administration:

  • Oversee administration, tracking, and compliance of grants and service agreements.
  • Ensure reporting requirements, deliverables, and timelines are met.
  • Partner with finance and leadership to manage budgets, invoicing, and documentation tied to grant-funded projects.

Educational Resources and Curriculum Oversight:

  • Lead planning, development, and implementation of curriculum projects.
  • Take direct lead on select curriculum projects, creating original content when necessary.
  • Ensure materials align with California academic standards and meet the needs of teachers and students.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and quality to guarantee successful outcomes.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the Curriculum Developer and Curriculum Specialist.
  • Provide clear direction, professional development, and support to ensure effective collaboration and high-quality work.
  • Foster innovation and accountability across the curriculum team.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with funders, partners, and program staff to ensure resources align with organizational mission and grant requirements.
  • Communicate progress, impact, and outcomes to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support events, trainings, and outreach to promote resource use and distribution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • California Teaching Credential and a minimum of 5 years teaching experience beyond student teaching. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the K-12 California Education Standards including Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Content Standards.
  • Passion for ag literacy and education.
  • Creative and strategic thinking to assist with the expansion of CFAITC reach and impact.
  • General knowledge of the agriculture industry and education process in California.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and represent the organization in a highly professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop and motivate staff.
  • Proven ability to convey information in an engaging and effective manner to an audience in the form of public speaking and in written communications using proper grammar and terminology.
  • Experience in event coordination and project implementation, including managing project timelines and budgets.
  • Represent CFAITC at workshops and conferences in both the education and agriculture events.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Suite required.
  • Ability to travel within California (some overnight) up to 3-5 days per month.
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, lift 30 lbs., and set up and tear down exhibits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, communication or education-related field required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with NEON CRM or similar CRM software.
  • Experience in agriculture, farming or ranching
  • Past supervisory experience

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
