Job Description

The Need

We are seeking a strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our regional insurance carrier client. This executive role is central to aligning business strategy with operational excellence across product, pricing, compliance, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own operational strategy and execution to support profitable growth and long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee product lifecycle, pricing strategy, and regulatory compliance with a focus on margin optimization and market responsiveness.
  • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and technology leaders to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions across the organization.
  • Lead development and execution of rate strategies for personal auto and homeowners, ensuring regulatory alignment and competitive positioning.
  • Drive process improvements and cost efficiencies across product and operational teams.
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to inform decision-making and ensure accountability across functions.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to corporate strategy and P&L oversight.
  • Mentor and lead high-performing teams, fostering a results-driven, collaborative culture.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in the P&C insurance industry, with 5+ years in senior leadership overseeing operations, product, or P&L.
  • Proven track record in strategic product management
  • Commercial Product Management experience is a must.
  • Expertise in pricing strategy, regulatory compliance, and policy form development.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing or influencing P&L outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or industry designations (CPCU, ARM) preferred.
